Meaningful Event from Bucak Health School of Higher Education Child Development Department

Bucak Sağlık Yüksekokulu Çocuk Gelişimi 4. Sınıf students, under the guidance of Doç. Dr. Hatice Darga, organized a comprehensive event program for individuals with special needs.
The program aimed to support the social, emotional, and environmental awareness of special students. The events, which started on December 3rd, World Disability Day, were filled with various activities ranging from active games to artistic activities in schools, and nature awareness activities such as sapling planting in Bucak Millet Bahçesi.
Colorful Activities in Schools
The activities were carried out within the scope of application courses of Child Development students. In the program prepared for individuals with special needs, active and rule-based games, musical rhythm studies, costume drama, and theater performances attracted great interest. Within the scope of art activities, activities such as bracelet making, stone painting, string printing, clay work, and face painting were carried out.
In the activities, efforts were also made to increase environmental awareness. Activities such as flower planting and bird feeder making enabled students to connect with nature.
Sapling Planting in Bucak Millet Bahçesi
The finale of the program was held with a sapling planting event organized in Bucak Millet Bahçesi. In the event carried out in cooperation with Bucak Sağlık Yüksekokulu Çocuk Gelişimi Bölümü and Bucak Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü, special needs students created an unforgettable memory by attaching name tags prepared for them to the saplings they planted.
The sapling planting was attended by Yüksekokul Müdürü Doç. Dr. Nazife Bakır, Müdür Yardımcısı Sabriye Uçan Yamaç, Doç. Dr. Nurten Terkeş, Dr. Öğretim Üyesi Sevgi Aslan Baysal, as well as principals, teachers, and parents from various schools in Bucak.
“We Are Together for Equality and Integration”
Doç. Dr. Hatice Darga, who made a statement about the events, expressed the purpose of the program with the following words:
"Developmental differences only require meeting special needs. Meeting these needs ensures equality. Integration is a way of expressing that we accept and are aware of each other. In this meeting, crowned with sapling planting in the name of protecting nature, the contributions of our special students made us proud."
