Practical spine health training from MAKÜ students to Sugar Factory employees

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Health Sciences Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department students, within the scope of social responsibility activities, met with Burdur Sugar Factory employees this week. The students shared important information on protecting spinal health in the training program they organized at the factory.

In the training, which took place with intense participation; workplace ergonomics, correct posture habits, and protective exercises that can be applied in daily life were discussed. The movements demonstrated practically by the students were also experienced one-on-one by the employees. Thus, participants had the opportunity to become aware of posture disorders commonly encountered in working life.

After the program, the students toured the factory's production area and had the opportunity to examine the process of turning beet into sugar on-site. Observing the production stages closely with the information provided by the officials, the students reinforced their theoretical knowledge with field experience.
