Stork chicks fallen from the nest are under the protection of MAKÜ

In Hisar Village of Ağlasun district in Burdur, three stork chicks that fell from their nests due to a fallen tree were rescued by the teams of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP). Upon receiving the report, the DKMP Burdur Provincial Branch Directorate Bucak Chief teams quickly took action and, after reaching the scene, safely took the chicks and performed the initial intervention.
The injured chicks were handed over to the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Wildlife Conservation, Rehabilitation Application and Research Center to ensure that their treatment and rehabilitation processes are carried out healthily. The center provides support to wildlife with a scientific, ethical, and compassion-based approach, working in coordination with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
The treatment, care, and feeding processes of the stork chicks, whose health checks were conducted by the expert academic staff within MAKÜ, were immediately started. The process is being meticulously carried out with the aim of the chicks returning to their natural lives.
Officials emphasizing the great importance of timely and conscious interventions in such incidents for the protection of wildlife highlighted that MAKÜ is not only an educational institution but also a stakeholder that assumes responsibility towards nature. The university continues its efforts to protect living life in cooperation with many institutions at local and national levels.
