Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University added a new one to its social contribution mission works. Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Career Development Application and Research Center and Burdur Provincial Directorate of National Education, in cooperation, made the Tercihim MAKÜ system available for all students who will choose a university and high school guidance teachers who will provide consultancy services during the preference period.

The Career Development and Monitoring System (KARGİS), developed by our university in 2019 with the aim of helping our university students to know themselves and create a career plan, was opened to high school students who took the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) and will choose a university under the name Tercihim MAKÜ this year. This system, where students can discover their personality, vocational interest and job value characteristics as a result of the inventories they fill out, also suggests professions where the student can be successful and happy in working life, considering these characteristics.

At the event organized by our university and the Provincial Directorate of National Education before YKS, the Tercihim MAKÜ system was introduced to guidance teachers working in secondary education institutions in Burdur by Dr. Instructor Veysel Dal and Career Development Application Research Center Deputy Director Instructor Hüseyin Karaoğlu. Our guidance teachers, who stated that it is a nice development for such a system to be made available to all students for free, introduced the system to students in their schools. So far, the system, which has been used by more than 2600 students in total, will remain open until the end of the preference period.

In the 2024 university preference period, Career Development Application and Research Center Deputy Director Instructor Alp Yanık visited schools and informed guidance teachers and students about the Tercihim MAKÜ system.
