A visit from culinary department students to the residents of the nursing home

Burdur Gıda Tarım ve Hayvancılık Meslek Yüksekokulu Otel, Lokanta ve İkram Hizmetleri Bölümü Aşçılık Programı students, by visiting Burdur Hilmi Hafize Evin Huzurevi, signed an event that warmed hearts. The main purpose of the visit was to increase the morale and motivation of the nursing home residents, to make them feel active in social life.

The visit aimed not only to develop the students' professional skills but also to instill a sense of social responsibility, reinforce their empathy, and raise awareness about human relations.

Cakes, pastries, and cookies carefully prepared by the students before the event were offered to the nursing home residents. Throughout the visit, students engaged in sincere conversations with the elders, listened to their memories, and spent enjoyable time together. The warm dialogues that emerged resulted in unforgettable memories for both sides.

The smiles on the faces of the nursing home residents once again revealed how meaningful the visit was. The students, on the other hand, established emotional bonds and gained significant insights into human relations and social sensitivity.

It was highlighted that such social responsibility projects contribute to the personal and professional development of students while also increasing their social awareness. At the end of the visit, heartfelt thanks were extended to the nursing home residents who embraced the students like their grandchildren and to the nursing home staff who provided support at every stage of the event.

At the event, the High School Director Prof. Dr. Şenol Güzel, Department Head Öğr. Gör. Muhamed Haykır, along with lecturers Mustafa Görücüler and Yunus Baygül, were also present with the students.
