Sports events were organized for students with special needs at MAKÜ.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Disabled Student Unit Coordination and Faculty of Sport Sciences organized a fun and educational swimming event for special students. In this event, it was aimed for students to have a pleasant time and gain new skills for a healthy life.

During the event held at the Faculty of Sport Sciences Sports Facilities Unit Swimming Pool under the coordination of Lecturer Dr. İsmail Vural Çalışkan and swimming specialization students, students had the opportunity to learn swimming techniques and develop their physical skills. Alperen Aydemir, a 4th-year student of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department, started swimming training despite his visual impairment and expressed great satisfaction from this experience. Alperen's participation enabled us to take stronger steps together and break societal prejudices.

Such events allow students to reinforce their social skills, increase their self-confidence, and make new friendships. Participants expressed that they greatly enjoyed the fun and educational nature of the event.

Associate Professor Dr. Elif Top, Assistant Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Member Aynur Tepe, and Dr. Lecturer Member Derya Ağcadağ from Ağlasun Vocational School also participated and supported the event organized by the Disabled Student Unit Coordination and Faculty of Sport Sciences.
